Mrs Petra KUHN has been practicing as a lawyer in France since 2003.

She was born in Berlin where she lived and worked for 25 years. In 1996, she graduated from the German University of Applied Science For Administration And Justice, which qualifies her to practice as a judge assistant (Diplom-Rechtspflegerin FH).

After working as such at Berlin Regional Court (Landgericht), Mrs KUHN continued her studies at Postdam University and Paris-Ouest Nanterre La Défense for a binational degree in European Business Law (D.E.S.S. Juriste Européen des affaires).

She has worked in several law firms in France and Germany as well as in a representative office of a German bank in Paris where she has acquired considerable expertise in business law while assisting Franco-German companies and international firms.

Since 2002, Mrs KUHN has been in charge of the German Desk for Ziegenfeuter – Gätjens – Saber law firm in Lyon. Her mission is to assist German speaking companies with their projects in France.

In this way, she has become specialized in advisory and litigation cases, in particular in the fields of contract law (including emergency expertise procedure), labour law, commercial and company law. She has also acquired a vast knowledge in the field of intellectual property. Moreover, she has a thorough experience in cross-border successions, including succession and donation taxes as well as in real estate law.

From 2000 to 2007, Mrs KUHN was a lecturer at the University of Cergy-Pontoise in German civil law and German civil proceedings. After, she has been involved as a lecturer in the fields of German contract and company law for the University LYON 2 as part of the Master’s degree 2.

Since 2002, Mrs KUHN has been in charge

on Franco-German business law, and, in particular, she published brochures in corporation with the foreign trade and marketing company called GERMANY TRADE AND INVEST (GTAI) as well as a legal guide for export to France and a paper on legal advice intended for craftsmen in France. She also wrote many articles on French Labour Law in a specialized journal about international secondment « Personalmanager – DRH international » (above all on the following matters: « Taking over a business in France from a Labour Law point of view » « Franco-German exchanges: which status for senior executives? », « Employees secondments – Labour law aspects, social security law and tax law» or « French salesman – VRP »).

Mrs KUHN is a member of the German lawyers’ society (DAV), the French and German jurists’ society (AJFA), the German lawyers and accountants for SMEs’ society (DASV), the European lawyers for receivables collection’ network (EARN) and a German society gathering experts in succession law (IFE).

In addition to her mother tongue (German), Mrs KUHN speaks French and English fluently.
